Beyond Pale Mountain is the latest project I am currently working on, which is a follow up to my first book The Homothumadon. The “Pale Mountain” series will be a multi volume set of books composed of perennial folk horror tales that all occur within the Pale Mountain milieu. The title has several layers of meaning but the first comes from the phrase “beyond the pale” which is an idiom meaning outside the limits of conventional norms. The “pale” were wooden fence posts that surrounded Dublin Ireland during the medieval period, so to be beyond the pale was to be in wild or unsafe territory. “Pale Mountain” also refers to the great mountain itself that plays a central role in the narrative. It is pale because it is perpetually covered in snow and is also called “Ghost Mountain”. I am beyond delighted to be sharing this new project with you, as I see it being a major life work of mine and a dream I’ve had for a long time. Stay tuned for updates on this extensive project.
